You need JavaScript enabled to view it is a co-business owner with her husband in San Diego since 1998 she has served on the board of Mission Connection since 1998 helping start a church, bible school and orphanage for the people of Romania. She has served in her local church in many ways as a Sunday school teacher, administrator, coordinator, youth leader and college group pastor with her husband Reed. She has been a mentor for the county of San Diego foster department with the result of becoming a foster parent. They have 5 children 1 foster child and 6 grandchildren. Sandra loves to travel and serve God in any way she can which is what brought her to Project Compassion in 2002. Sandra serves as a full time volunteer in the office and also as one of the team leaders on the Medical mission trips overseas.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it took his first mission trip with Project Compassion in 2000 and joined the Board of Directors of PC in 2001. He enjoys his involvement with the administrative end of PC as well as continuing to go on mission trips. He earned his Medical Degree in 1982 and completed his residency in Pediatrics in 1985. He has been in private pediatric practice since 1985 in Escondido and Poway, CA. Al enjoys the field of Pediatrics and the challenges of international medical mission, especially in having to care of all ages of patients, from infancy to the elderly. “I found my first trip with PC to be a life changing experience and I love every trip I take. I feel that the care I can give to the people on these trips is my way of thanking the Lord for all that he gives to me. Working with Project Compassion has been very rewarding in many ways. I encourage others, both medical professionals and lay persons, to take the first step into medical mission work and I know they will come back a different person.”

He is the founding pastor of The Connection, formerly Christian Life Assembly in Poway, California a suburb of San Diego, where he has served as senior pastor since 1988. Under his leadership the church has had an international impact through its various outreaches. One example is Project Compassion http://www.projectcompassion.org/, which he co-founded in 1992. Besides his Pastoral work he has ministered on five continents training national pastors and doing evangelistic outreaches. His overseas work led him to found Global Partners in Development which connects worthy business people in developing nations with partners here in the U.S. In 1976 he founded Capital Bible College and served as its president for nine years. In 1979 he founded and directed Jesus West Coast, a large annual missions festival attended yearly by thousands and credited with recruiting' many into missions. Pastor Bob has authored the Angel award-winning book Fantasy Explosion, and has produced and directed various films and documentaries. He’s written 3 other books, the most recent is “Good Samaritan Therapy, Real Medicine for the Soul” http://www.theconnectionsd.com/gst/index.htm. He and his wife, Claudia, have been married since 1969. They have 3 grown children and 4 grand-children.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it is a Registered Nurse and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has been involved with Project Compassion since 2000. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 1987 and is board certified in both Pediatrics and Family Health. She has been employed for the past 20 years with Sharp Rees Stealy Medical Group in San Diego and previously worked at Children’s Hospital San Diego for 10 years. “After my first trip to Mexico in 2000 with Project Compassion, my heart was on fire for missions and I’ve wanted to return with this group as much as I could. Traveling with Project Compassion is a wonderful way to serve the poor, experience the work of the Holy Spirit and bring the hope of Jesus Christ.

Logistics

He helps out in the office with trip planning activities and is one of the team leaders of the medical mission teams overseas. Although still actively working as a pharmaceutical consultant and traveling extensively around the world, the Lord has placed on John’s heart the burden to assist missionaries and local pastors in extending the reach of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to new boundaries. He has been married for almost 40 years to his best friend and wife Nicki, and he has two children (Heather and Cory) and raised many “Velcro children”. He attends North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad.
